What is the Solid Edge Certified Professional certification?

What should I expect during the certification examination?

• There will be two sections, each 2 hours long.
• Solid Edge Online documentation is not available during the certification.
• There is approximately a half hour of orientation information before the examination begins.
• There is a half hour to one hour interval between Knowledge base and Skill base sections.

What skills are tested?

How will the certification examination be graded?

• An automatic grading program will be used. This program provides consistency as well as removes subjectivity of the grader

What percentage of answers need to be answered correctly in order to pass the test?

• 70% score in the Knowledge base test
• 70% score in the Skill base test

Will you combine the scores from Knowledge base test and Skill base test?

• No

Is it mandatory to score 70% or above in each section (i.e. Knowledge base and Skill base) separately?

• Yes

What option do I have if I do not pass the test? Can it be retaken? In what time period? Will the retest be the same test?

• The test can be retaken after 6 months. However, the certification fee will have to be paid again by the test taker. The same test will not be given the second time.

What can I do to prepare?

• Review and practice the skills listed in the Skill Requirements web page.

Are the questions on the assessment test the same as on the certification test?

• No, however they deal with the same functionality

Are they similar?

• What is similar to you may be very different to me. What I would say is that the assessment tool deals with knowledge base (memory) and skills base task. By working with the assessment tool, the user should be able to establish whether or not they are ready to take the certification test

Is the certification for a certain version of Solid Edge?

• Certifications will sometimes span multiple releases. The current evaluation is based on Solid Edge V19.

Is there any expiration date for the certificate?

• Our developers continue work at improving the functionality and user interface of Solid Edge. Therefore, it is advisable to retake the test after major version releases. The general guideline is that the certificate is valid for 3 years.
